Preferred Growing Locations

The maps below show the areas where warm season grasses will hold their colour throughout winter. Outside these areas, temperatures are colder and warm season grasses go dormant during winter and warm season grasses will need to be over-seeded with a cool season grass such as Ryegrass to give winter colour and protection from wear. In very cold areas and where summers are not that hot, cool season grasses should be considered.
